It has been reported that as little as 10 ml of fluid may induce inhibition [ 17] with infusions between 20 and 60 ml capable of reducing maximum effort quadriceps peak torque by 30 to 40% [ 17, 21].
While the statistical analysis lacked significance (p > 0.05), normalized data for both 4-week rhBMP-2-treated groups revealed strong trends toward dose-dependent improvement of peak torque, maximum torsional rigidity, maximum shear stress, and shear modulus (Table 4).
