In every week, the plants were monitored prior to measuring the plant height, maximum leaf area, number of leaves to compare the effect of irradiated textile effluent with the raw and control one.
Maximum green leaf number was attained when FIINTRA reached 90% and coincided with the occurrence of peak tiller density.
Plants nourished with textile effluent irradiated at 10 and 15 kGy showed best performance (Table 3) among the plants nourished by effluent irradiated at four different radiation doses, raw textile effluent and control sample, in case of these three-growth parameters (highest plant height, maximum leaf area and number of leaf average).
Leaf phenotypes were determined according to these factors, including leaf area [ 44], leaf length (defined as the distance from the leaf insertion point at the stem to the tip of the terminal leaflet) [ 45], leaf width (defined as the distance between the tips of the two longest lateral leaflets) [ 45], L/W of maximum leaf and the number of leaves per plant.
This model simulates maize canopies from few input variables: maximum leaf area per plant, maximum number of leaves, plant density, distance between rows, leaf orientation plasticity, maximum height of plant and plant growing stage.

In contrast, the correlation between days to flower and leaf number in F2 populations dramatically decreased, with a maximum of r = 0.84 for P9 (Tsu-1 × RRS10).
Maximum leaf length was measured for each of the three species, total number of leaves was counted for P. lanceolata and T. pratense, total number of stems was counted for A. elatius.
