For example, some authors [ 13- 15] considered the various divergent lineages to be different species of Pleistocene origin, while others [ 16, 17] have interpreted these lineages as intraspecific polymorphisms, consistent with the existence of isolated populations during glacial maxima and secondary contact at the end of the Pleistocene.
