Three level, three variable face-centered cubic experimental design (FCD) with response surface methodology (RSM) was used for optimization of extraction in terms of maximized yields for total phenolics (TP), flavonoids (TF), anthocyanins (MA) and proanthocyanidins (TPA) contents.
Statistical model equations directed production of a control batch that minimized span, maximized yield, and targeted a t50 of 90 min (sample A); sample B that differed by targeting a t50 of 240-300 min to provide sustained release; and sample C that differed from sample B by maximizing span.
Results show that this strategy is well suited for the chemical functionalization, giving a maximized grafting yield due to a chemical cooperation of amine and diazonium functionalities.
When the two optimal values of 290.8 kg/s mass flow rate of catalyst and 53.4 kg/s mass flow rate of gas oil were obtained in case 3, the maximized propylene yield is 8.95 wt%, slightly higher than cases 1 and 2.
