These octet stimulations were applied to determine the muscles' maximal capacity for isometric torque development during full maximal activation (de Ruiter et al. 2004a, b, 2007).
The walking speed of the endurance exercise training at home was set at 80% of maximal capacity predicted from the distance walked during the ISWT [ 23].

In conclusion, the case-control study showed that women with trapezius myalgia have lower strength-endurance capacity during repetitive maximal contractions of the trapezius muscle compared with healthy controls, along with lower muscle activity (EMG amplitude).
The main findings of the present study were (1) that women with trapezius myalgia showed reduced force capacity during repetitive maximal contractions of the trapezius muscle compared with healthy controls (case-control study) and (2) that 10 weeks of high-intensity specific strength training led to improved force capacity of the trapezius muscle in women with trapezius myalgia.
