In some ways A Hijacking (Kapringen), a Danish film by Tobias Lindholm, deals with the same subject matter: violence committed against affluent westerners by the excluded.

Then there's his subject matter: not violence or drugs or street-corner bravado.
Yanagihara's follow-up, which has justly been longlisted for the Man Booker Prize, approaches similar subject matter – masculinity, violence, secrets – but from the opposite end of the emotional spectrum.
They sigh with tired, impatient disbelief as the army enters Homs, once again, to quell the rebellion, and enters Dara'a, once again, and Deir Ezzor once again, and no matter the violence or promises of reform, the revolution continues to grow, mocking what appears to be an increasingly impotent government.
But it's also, in the best sense, a remarkably accessible film, both in a formal sense (the narrative arc is coherent, the action sequences are viscerally awesome, and so on) and in terms of its content (while it's set in Iraq, it's not a political film, and despite its subject matter, the violence is not especially graphic).
Once considered largely a private family matter, domestic violence is now treated by law enforcement and the justice system as the serious crime that it is.
Instead, Sessions has pledged his unwavering support for law enforcement, and in speeches has blamed "divisive rhetoric," meaning the protests of groups such as Black Lives Matter, for violence against law officers.
