Our method (GRAMMAR-GC) involves three steps which include removing the correlation from the data using relationship matrix estimated from either the pedigree or the genome (derivation of environmental residuals), using the correlation-free residuals from step 1 as the trait to perform association analysis, and then applying GC to correct the test statistic.
