The wet region function converts the volumetric particle size fractions to pore size fractions and utilizes the capillary rise equation to predict water content and matric potential pairs.
The average pore size of the glass fiber (TOMBO No.8402, NICHIAS, Tokyo, Japan) was 0.009 mm, and thus most of the water drained at −300 cmH2ofof matric potential, which was estimated from the Laplace equation for capillary tubes, Δ P = 2 σ r, where σ is the surface tension for water, Δ P is the potential, and r is the radius of the capillary.
