De Maizière said the materials help clarify "the underlying structures of this terrorist organisation".
"The parents are expected to over-see the science experiment, furnish the necessary materials, help interpret findings and supply guidance on how to complete the project," they wrote.
"We just don't know if these kinds of materials help people make better choices," said Dr. Steven Woloshin, a researcher at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in White River Junction, Vt., who studies ways to improve medical communication.
And recycling building materials help China reach official goals of improving environmental protection because it eases pressure on landfills, reduces illegal dumping and reduces destructive practices used to obtain sand for concrete, like dredging river beds or quarrying mountainsides.
The problem is not the plastic itself: Even those who lobby against plastic pollution acknowledge that plastic materials help combat climate change, for example by reducing the weight — and thus fuel consumption — of vehicles, or by helping to insulate buildings.
Nanosized materials help to reduce porosity as they absorb less water compared to traditional cementitious materials.
