In an attempt to create a classifier of low complexity and due to the material limitation, we decided to validate only 8 genes, which provided almost the same accuracy as that for a larger number of genes: 80%and84%4% accuracies for the 8-gene and 45-gene classifiers (the one with maximal accuracy), respectively (Table 2).
However, there were no credible fair trade sources for our other main raw materials, so we decided to set up organic and fair trade projects for coconut oil in post-tsunami Sri Lanka, for palm oil in Ghana and for mint oil in India.
Since peak calling using Galaxy (usegalaxy.org) identified 7348 Foxa1-bound regions (supplementary material Table S1) with FDR <5%, whereas the Foxa2-specific antibody identified only 2105 regions (supplementary material Table S2), we decided to use the Foxa1 ChIP-Seq data set for downstream analysis.
