Wordsworth is now in his past, and -- short an appreciation of history, women, art -- Marin sketches in this thin book a genuinely sad existence: one in which he cannot love, cannot fight and cannot get off the Reference Train.
Mr. Marin was a banker, art collector and former millionaire.
"It'll be the one place worldwide that everybody can go to for all things Chicano art," says Marin. "And it will not just be display, but it will have an academic feature so Chicano art can be seen and can be studied.
"I told [RAM curator Todd Wingate], Cheech is looking to place his collection somewhere it could be academically studied — and we have this library that would be a great place for a Chicano art museum". Marin says he is excited about the possibility of having his collection in Riverside.
There are five universities in the area". The museum would be a partnership between Marin (who would supply his art), the city of Riverside (which owns the building) and the art museum (which would manage the new center).

Here was a guy in biker boots bringing the Park Slope (Aspen, Marin, Portland, Santa Fe) ethos — organic produce, art installations, an outdoor bread oven — to the disenfranchised.
The 1,500 square feet of space is filled with his designs, including furniture for Vanguard, fabrics for Kravet, wall art for Soicher Marin and rugs for his new landlord.
And neither is Cheech Marin's collection of Chicano Art.
