Four surficial geology maps at 1 250,000 scale were produced from 14 maps scaled at 1 100,000, while a single compilation of six bedrock maps was generalized from 1 125,000 to 1 500,000 scale.
For instance, when the output from processed data e.g. information maps, scale from a local (i.e. City) to national or regional levels for comparative environmental indicator analyses, the amounts of data and the number of processing requirements typically increase.

The maps cannot be used for analyses of changes in the landscape microstructure, due to their inaccurate specification of landscape segments, and due to the scale of the original maps (scales ranging from 1 25,000 to 1 28,800), which makes them unusable for evaluating changes at the level of individual plots.
In the present study, the rivers and streams digitized from topographic maps (scale 1 50,000) were well represented/captured when stream definition threshold was set at 25 pixels of the flow accumulation layer.
Therefore, in the present study, a more rational approach of morphometric analysis has been employed using SRTM DEM with relatively fine spatial resolution (i.e., 30 m) and natural stream networks digitized from topographic maps (scale 1 50,000).
