Such an approach involves mapping fundamental frequencies of musical tones to electrodes based on a semitone scale.
The mapping matrix attempts to map the center frequencies of the channels and FFT bins as close as possible to the fundamental frequencies of each corresponding semitone.
Smt mapping assigns fundamental frequencies of successive semitones on the musical scale to individual channels.
