To reexamine a large Albertan family previously reported with a progressive cone dystrophy with variable phenotype and to map the disorder using molecular genetic techniques.
Using a methodology we recently reported 14 we performed linkage analysis with whole exome sequencing data to map the disorder to multiple genomic loci, and then, using the same sequence data, we identified the causative gene mutation on chromosome 14.

The use of lexical resources is promising as seen in the Results section, and the contribution of the ICD-10 mapping in the Disorder sub-hierarchy is especially remarkable (11,224 matchings).
The procedure of disease-related network construction consists of selecting genes described in OMIM as having mutations with causative effect on the disorder; mapping them on the human network, derived from STRING; forming the final network by expanding the core genes with their neighbours at distance one.
Rare disorders actually represent the majority of the diseases annotated in UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot. Orphanet maps these disorders to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10), SNOMED CT, MeSH, MedDRA, and UMLS [ Rath et al., 2012].
"We think that genomes are the path out of the darkness, and that these studies and others like them will ultimately provide the molecular clues we will need to map out the pathophysiology of the disorder," he said.
To avoid the disorder general maps being biased by the most frequently studied disorders, which also tended to be studied in the largest primary samples, we included the same number of studies (n = 7) per disorder, by randomly sampling a subset of seven primary studies of those disorders, which had been the focus of more than seven published VBM studies.
Subsequently, the disorder predictions were mapped onto the MSAs used for the phylogeny reconstructions and visualized as heatmaps following the same order as the sequences in the specific phylogeny for each protein (fig. 3A).
Tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy is used to map the nanoscale structure and local disorder in voltage-reduced GO and rGO single sheets.
Using the crystal structure for the RABV nucleoprotein complex (pdb id - 2GTT) [45] from the Research Collaboratory for Structural Bioinformatics (RCSB) protein database repository with the Chimera molecular viewer [46] the disorder and CICPs were mapped to the structure by coloring the residues.
For a more specific look at the nucleoprotein interaction with the phosphoprotein a recent crystal structure of the Vesicular Stomatitis Indiana Virus (VSIV) N∶RNA & P complex (pdb id – 3HHZ) [22] was mapped with disorder predictions for the nucleoprotein (Fig. 7).
