The sumptuous displays of prepared foods and desserts look wonderful, as do many other selections, like a terrific hamburger, charred crisp on the outside and juicy within, served with excellent fries; fine, flavorful fried chicken; a great bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich served on brioche; a delicious pissaladiere; and an individual quiche or croque-monsieur served with mesclun salad.

That decision was one acknowledgment of how borders have dissolved in the film world – as in the world in general – but in so many other respects the selection process is stuck in the rigid past.

The excess of low-frequency variants could be explained by many other factor besides positive selection, such as population demographic change and background selection, however, only positive selection and very specific demographic scenarios are able to explain the excess of high frequency mutations [ 32].
There are many other aspects to sexual selection, however, including: mutual mate choice, assortative mating, male selection on females, which are all important in socially monogamous birds, prosimians, humans, and some other species.
Thus, even if only a few genes are under selection, many other genes could hitchhike with them.
