TD RL models have been able to provide strong explanations for many neurophysiological observations, such as qualitative changes in dopamine firing [1], [5], including changes at first thought not to reflect prediction error (e.g. generalization and exploration [15]).
These discoveries have led to many interesting observations, such as associations between PRDM9 variants in humans and individual variation in recombination rates, generating an ongoing research program of great scientific interest (Baudat et al. 2014).
One of us (JPC) described about a quarter of the known species and reported many original observations, such as the progressive stages of acquisition of one pair of appendages on the posterior half of the tail by modifying a part of their balancing fins [ 4].
