The manual rating was made without knowledge of the CGC ranking.
A middle group of four genes were rated as relatively high by the CGC application: ITK CGCC points 9.7, CGC ranking 3, manual rating 2), NFATC3 (CGC points 9.7, CGC ranking 3, manual rating 3), AARS (CGC points 9.2, CGC ranking 5, manual rating 3) and KARS (CGC points 9.2, CGC ranking 5, manual rating 3).

The goal of this manual rate-selection process was to ensure an image quality gradient on the parameter space for each image rather than image quality that is saturated at "very bad" or "very good" due to images that are hard to code or easy to code (or equivalently a target rate that is too low or too high).
However, our data suggest that motorized distraction at 1 mm per day in 1,440 steps (one step a minute) does not improve time to union significantly nor does it reduce complications of bone fracture when compared with a traditional manual distraction rate of 1 mm per day in four steps.
