They focused mainly on the two most commonly practiced interventions: stapler versus manual oversewn closure of the pancreatic remnant [ 27– 29].
The results are heterogeneous and often contradictory: several authors have shown lower fistula rates in manual oversewn closure compared to stapler transection [ 6, 14– 16], while others favored stapler [ 17– 17].
