Cuff pressure can be easily measured with a small aneroid manometer [ 23], but this device is not widely available in the United States.
We used a vaginal pressure device connected to a pressure manometer that shows the air pressure through an arbitrary scale from 0 to 12 (PFX 2-Pelvic Floor Exerciser Biofeedback [Cardio Design, Australia]) to assess the strength of pelvic floor muscles [ 23].
A device with a sylphon zero-manometer was used, the gas space of which was minimized to reduce changes in the composition of the melts caused by the evaporation of their components.
For better evidence, this system has to be compared with other devices, like manometers, that are usually used for aspiration pressure control.
The U.S. EPA (1999) has recommended that Hg no longer be used for blood pressure and other medical devices, barometers, manometers, thermometers, or thermostats.
The connection between the pressure transducer and the tracheal cuff was identical in the two study periods, with a three-way stopcock of which the third port was either connected to the mechanical device or closed and connected to the manometer every 4 h (Fig. 2).
Cuff pressure was continuously recorded for nine hours (three hours with routine care using a manometer, three hours with continuous control using an electronic device (Tracoe™) and three hours of continuous control of cuff pressure using a pneumatic device).

They were randomized to receive continuous control of cuff pressure using a pneumatic device (n = 6) or routine care using a manometer (n = 6).
