"The industry decided the best way to tackle the problem was to become more involved in the science being used to develop management programs," said Dr. Eric Powell, the director of Haskin Shellfish Lab.
Forty-six percent of those who are aware of electricity management programs say they want to enroll in coming years.
"It's a very, very challenging management program," said Scott Strough, president of Southampton's board of trustees.
Amy So, coordinator for the Hospitality and Gaming Management program, said there were almost no education options in the field when the program opened in 2003.
"Out of that was born this idea of developing a stress management program," said Margaret Aleles, vice president for innovation growth platforms and new businesses at the company.
"I was first interested in wind or solar, but then I heard about the energy management program," said Mr. Heflin, whose previous job had been eliminated.
Mr. Cunha, 32, who graduated from Tulane University's casino management program, said he "was really looking forward to working at the Hard Rock".
In a study published this month in The New England Journal of Medicine, researchers with the Childhood Asthma Management Program said the drugs were effective and safe.
