All malignant components of the 3 carcinomas ex pleomorphic adenomas were mainly composed of salivary duct carcinoma.
If these cases with MNA were not discovered in the early stage by MSPN, some malignant components of tumours would proliferate and progress.
Long-term active surveillance is necessary because of the uncertainty of the biological behaviour and potentially composite malignant components of MA.
