In order to identify the publications, major scientific literature databases (Scopus, Google Scholar, and Web of Science) were used.
The literature search was performed through major scientific literature databases including Scopus, Science Direct, Springer, Google Scholar, and EZproxy UPM library search engines with the following keywords: Cameron Highlands, Bertam catchment, water quality, water quality index (WQI), physicochemical, agriculture, and land use.
A search of the literature was executed on 26 May 2009 using four major scientific literature databases, PubMed (National Centre for Biotechnology Information, US National Library of Medicine, USA; 1900 2009), EMBASE (Elsevier BV, The Netherlands; 1974 2009), Scopus (Elsevier BV, The Netherlands; 1823 2009), and Web of Science (Thomson Reuters, USA; 1900 2009).
We conducted a systematic search of electronic databases, abstract proceedings of major scientific meetings, and bibliographies of all eligible studies from 1 January 2005 to the present (the last systematic search was dated 13 July 2010) to identify all relevant studies since the comprehensive search conducted for the systematic review published in the Cochrane Library in 2006.
