Briefly, all cell lines were cultured on Matrigel (BD Biosciences) coated plates and maintained in mouse embryonic fibroblast conditioned medium (MEF-CM) supplemented with 8 ng/ml of human recombinant basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF, Invitrogen) [41].
