However, hospitalization time proved to be dependent on the main diagnosis (P<0.001) (Table 2).
After all investigations, lower respiratory tract infection (n = 172, 41.1%), malaria (n = 168, 40.2%), gastro enteritis (n = 74, 17.7%) and meningitis (n = 16, 3.8%) were the main recorded final diagnosis (Table 1 and Figure 1).
Controlled venous pressure also decreased total incidence of complications [ I = 0%, RR = 0.75, 95% CI (0.63, 0.91), P = 0.003, Table 3], and main diagnosis of complications was presented in Table 3, in which only chest infection finally reached a significant difference [ I = 0%, MD = 0.56, 95% CI (0.35, 0.90), P = 0.02].

The groups differed regarding disease severity, SF-36 Physical Component, SF-36 Health Change, and, by nature of the inclusion criteria, by the main diagnosis and baseline CES-D (Table 2).> -wrap-foot> aFreemanFreeman–Halton Test In Group 1, the duration of the depressive disorder was 6 11 months in 9% (n = 7/81) of patients, 12 23 months in 9%, and ≥2 years in 83%.

Our previous observations on patients with coarctation maintained on prostaglandin infusions suggested that the introduction of a comparison of preductal and postductal oxygen saturation might increase the detection rate of coarctation, 15 but in the present study only a third (3/9) of infants with coarctation of the aorta as the main diagnosis had abnormal saturation screening results (table 1).
