Considering the morphological, anatomical and clinical differences between tumours, three main classification parameters have emerged, which are based on histological subtype (serous, endometrioid, clear cells, mucinous, Brenner), disease stage (I IV) and tumour grade (0 3).
If the main classification goal is to minimize the number of pixels wrongly classified, the mean texture parameter should be used, whereas if the main classification goal is to minimize the unclassified pixels the angular second moment texture parameter should be used.
The main disadvantages are higher cost and limited power capacity (see Classification parameters below).
Metrology and inspection systems can be broadly separated into three main classifications by application: critical dimension (CD) and overlay measurements, particle and pattern defect detection, and thin film parameter measurement.

As described earlier, the main idea can be summarized as (i) finding hidden representations for the data points by mapping them into a subspace with the help of kernel and projection matrices and (ii) performing binary classification in this shared subspace using the task-specific classification parameters.
Figure 1 illustrates the method we propose to learn a conjoint model across the tasks; it is composed of two main parts: (i) projecting data points into a shared subspace using a 'kernel-based dimensionality reduction' model and (ii) performing 'binary classification' in this subspace using the task-specific classification parameters.
