After the intermission, "Happy Lucky Sun" premières, in Day-Glo yellow, with some of Brooks's most extreme acrobatic minimalism to date: the dancers hover horizontal over the ground almost as much as they stand on their feet.
And in "Happy Lucky Sun," which features all six company members, Mr. Brooks performs a marvelous solo, all stiff, whipping arms and shuddering body, that, like much else in his work, goes on just long enough to lose its impact.
But the cumulative impact of all of this — excerpts from six older works dating back to 2001 and one new piece, "Happy Lucky Sun"— is somehow less than the sum of its parts.
