The data provide an improved understanding of fluid inclusion decrepitation behaviour that is different to that obtained in lower temperatures experiments designed by other workers to investigate H-isotope fractionation.
This trend of the steady-state ΣCO2 concentration in the higher-temperature experiment being higher than that in the lower-temperature experiment is consistent with the results of experiments simulating high-temperature reactions between basalt and CO2-rich seawater (Shibuya et al. 2013b).
