Further analyses using the facets of the APP showed that marijuana dependence was not associated with sensation seeking and negative view of self, but was significantly associated with facets measuring impulsivity and lower self regulation.
In contrast, children with high levels of negative affect in the parent child relationship had lower levels of self-regulation, which can put them at risk for problems in social, emotional, and cognitive development.
The second profile, on the other hand, refers to students with a lower level of use of self-regulation learning strategies involving technologies (see Fig. 2).
Firstly, because pursuit towards abstract goals occurs by specifying reference values at the next lower level of abstraction, effective self-regulation requires that abstract levels in the hierarchy are functionally connected and engaged with concrete levels, with all interfacing with the present environment.
Hence, stand dynamics can benefit from lowering anthropogenic disturbances and favouring self-regulation, which would be a further step towards near-natural forest management.
It is important to note, however, that one particular item on self-regulation was rated lower than others.
This self-regulation scale, however, had lower than acceptable level of internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = .63).63
Van den Hurk et al. [ 36] also stressed the importance of self-directed learning, demonstrating that low self-regulation is associated with lower and less effective preparation.
