Breaking the data down into subcomponents looking at pupils who have shown either low or high levels of prior attainment, then it seems as though different areas of the country are having varying levels of success in enabling pupils with previously low levels of attainment in science to achieve better marks.
Anne-Marie Canning, who benefited from the full EMA allowance when she was a school student in Doncaster, says: "I have no doubt that one of the reasons there were such low levels of attainment in my sixth form was because people were working such long hours – they were doing way more than the 15 hours a week that anyone can reasonably do while studying.
"On the whole, the areas sending few students to Oxford tend also to be the areas with high levels of disadvantage and low levels of attainment in schools.
However, relatively low levels of attainment were observed for some SSAP components, in particular, clothing (43.3%), shade (51.5%) and curriculum (54.4%).
Ranging from solicitors, civil servants, unemployed graduates, businesswomen and college lecturers, the women quizzed the Labour leader about the Westfield site, the low level of educational attainment in local schools, as well as the lack of jobs, university fees and austerity cuts.
"Women in Mississippi typically have a low level of educational attainment, and that's usually the strongest correlation to earnings," says Professor Weinstein.
