Re "The Bridges of Bronx County" (New York Observed, May 3), about the author's exploration of bridges in the Bronx after treatment for refractory Hodgkin's lymphoma: I have lived through many troubles in my life, though not illness in myself -- in loved relatives, yes -- and have found profound healing in bridges particularly and in fountains, beautiful monuments, all works of human endeavor.
