Mechanical measurements of stress and strain at break, and dynamic mechanical measurements of storage and loss moduli of filled and unfilled samples showed that filling with NaCl did not change the mechanical properties of the networks significantly, in spite of the dramatic change in the swelling behaviour.
For the devices fabricated without (PCB 2C2, a rapid degradation in device performance was observed upon thermal stress, with a 20%% loss in power conversion efficiency (PCE) within the first 25 min, primarily due a loss of fill factor, and likely linked to the densely formed nanoscale PCBM aggregates.
The possible loss of this fills me with gloom.
Beach nourishment on open ocean beaches not bounded by headlands or other structures suffers from high rates of lateral losses of fill volume as the nourished shoreline equilibrates with its surroundings.
