It is an archaic term meaning a worthless or lazy person. It can also be used as a verb meaning to lose or waste. Example: "The king was disappointed to find that his son had grown into a losel, wasting his days away in idleness instead of preparing to rule the kingdom."
Mr. Yauch's mother said he died at 9 a.m. on Friday at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan with his parents, his in-laws, his wife, Dechen Wangdu, and his 13-year-old daughter, Tenzin Losel Yauch, at his bedside.
He is survived by Dechen, his daughter Tenzin Losel and his parents.
