W.L. Gore attributes its steady growth to an employee experience built around the so-called "lattice" system of management no hierarchies, no predetermined channels of communication, and no defined jobs locking associates (they're never called employees) into particular tasks.

These elements are better alternatives to those based on the displacement formulation and that hinged on the truly hybrid strain formulation in that they eliminate locking problems commonly associated with displacement based lower order shell finite elements.
