We documented stranding locations from locality descriptions from 1982 1999, afterwards using global positioning system coordinates.
After delineation, we assigned species and their corresponding watershed areas to Brazilian hydrographic regions [25], [26] and to Brazilian official biomes [27], according to the location of species locality records.
Teams were also selected to maximise the variability in team characteristics including provider type, team location (co-located or not), geographical locality, management structures and health system context.
It gives access to a mixture of scheduled and real-time (where available) information based on the user's location, postcode or general locality.
Variables associated with each H5N1 outbreak included: date, location (country, administrative region, locality, latitude and longitude), reliability of the field veterinarian's diagnosis and the laboratory approach that was used to confirm viral subtype, and whether the outbreak occurred in wild or domestic animals.

When the exact location of the type-locality was unknown, or when there were indications that the type-populations were extinct, we used more recent voucher-documented data.
Healthcare providers and healthcare managers were purposively sampled to achieve diversity in professional groups and the range of service locations within a single locality including: an ED at a large city hospital; an ED at a children's hospital; a minor injuries unit; the GP-led walk-in centre; GPs from surrounding surgeries and GPs from an academic unit of primary medical care.
Based on the geographic locations of fishing localities and their use frequencies, five fishing zones were identified.
