A striking accumulation of >C10 acyl-carnitines in the PanK1-deficient livers was evident in both the fed and fasted states, suggesting that activation of PanK2 and/or PanK3 may contribute to supporting tissue CoA levels in the absence of PanK1 (Fig. 5D and 5E).
