The word “lit” is not commonly used in this way.
"Lit" is usually used as an informal past tense of the verb "light" (e.g. I lit the candle). If you want to express the idea of "landing on" or "descending upon," it's more common to use the phrase "landed on." For example: The eagle landed on the branch of the tree.
