Conventional continuous-wave (CW) EPR spectra were measured on a Bruker ELEXSYS E540 X-band spectrometer with ER 4102 ST resonator and either a liquid nitrogen quartz insertion dewar or a Bruker ER 4112 HV helium flow cryostat.
We considered four eligible categories of intravaginal practice: intravaginal cleansing with liquids (including douching); insertion of dry substances into the vagina; ingestion of substances intended to affect the vagina; and self-administered anatomical modifications, such as cutting at the introitus, with insertion into the cut of traditional substances that are washed away later.
There was a range of sexual stimulants that were designed to be taken orally, but were sometimes inserted vaginally, such as Silver Bullets (tablets crushed before insertion) and Love Drops (liquid).
