The zone of bony fixation is narrow and the pins are biomechanically compromised being under significant cantilever loading due to limited divergence in cancellous bone and significant loading from the force of distraction and the weight of the leg below the hip joint.
Divergence between L. intermedia and L. whitmani, estimated from F st values, is relatively high (Table 2), ranging from 0.17 to 0.64, except for zetacop, which shows limited divergence between the two species (F st = 0.0542 for the NR block, non significant).
Their limited divergence suggests a very recent origin for these taxa or mitochondrial exchange during the Pleistocene.
Principal evidence for these monophyletic lineages is highlighted on the basis of limited divergence (≤0.65%) and conserved expression of unique substitutions relative to observed genetic diversity (0.8%–1.0%) between published group 1 6 strains from the southwestern United States (14 ).
Modest sequence differences within and outside PARCEL domains reveal only limited divergence.
