Improvements in light sources, scanner efficiency, data transmission protocols, and storage capacity have collectively produced improvements in the acquisition frame rate for OCT [ 8, 9].
Despite a lot of efforts for the realization of Si-based light sources with high efficiency, luminescence efficiency from Si-based light sources is still very low due to an indirect bandgap nature of the bulk Si[4, 5].
Without light source degradation efficiency was neglected, because, without light, photoelectron and photohole generation or recombination will not occur on the photocatalyst.
In addition to the spectral composition of the emitted light the other factor that needs to be considered in non-thermal light sources is that of efficiency; indeed, the efficiency is the main driving factor behind their development.
