In a light-dark cycle, the fragmented activity during the light phase and delayed activity onset (phase angle of entrainment) during the dark phase of MPS IIIB mice indicate that the disease preferentially targets the pathways responsible for light responsiveness, with little effect on the mechanisms responsible for circadian rhythm generation in the SCN.
