Since I use the GNU/Linux operating system on my main computer, I have little choice but to run the very adequate LibreOffice, a free software Microsoft Office semi-clone.
LibreOffice has an AutoCorrect feature that remembers every eight-letter (or longer) word you type.
If you only need to read or create relatively simple documents, the free and open source LibreOffice may be a viable alternative.
LibreOffice is both open source and free, so it will only cost you the time needed to try it.
Linux software, like LibreOffice and Evolution, is more than a match for its Windows counterparts, Microsoft Office and Outlook.
A home system running exclusively free software today might include, in addition to a GNU/Linux operating system, LibreOffice instead of Microsoft Office, GIMP rather than Photoshop, and the IceCat browser in place of Chrome or Internet Explorer.
These programs include LibreOffice (a suite similar to Microsoft Office); Mozilla's Firefox browser and Thunderbird e-mail client; Skype; programs for playing audio and video files; and photo-editing software.
Later, the plan was updated to use LibreOffice and Ubuntu.
In LibreOffice Writer, go to Tools, select AutoCorrect and then AutoCorrect Options.
Otherwise, your best bet is LibreOffice 6.2.2, which now has its own optional ribbon interface.
