However, this means that for breeds with different levels of pedigree knowledge, the time period considered will vary according to breed.
The structure of this dataset allows for testing approaches considering varying levels of pedigree and/or genomic relationships because animals from multiple generations and both sexes have high-density genotypes.
In some breeding programs, such as those with very low levels of pedigree recording, there may be major population subgroups or structures hidden within the data that could be captured and revealed by the genomic information.
