Cellular redox state is a consequence of the precise balance between the levels of oxidizing and reducing equivalents, such as ROS and endogenous antioxidants.
Antioxidant genes' expression are regulated by the delicate balance between the levels of oxidizing and reducing equivalents of the redox state [ 17], and the activation of antioxidant proteins is associated with oxidative stress during the viral infection [ 13, 18].
