The interview elicited details on usual tobacco use, including the product/tobacco type (black or blond cigarettes, cigars, pipes) as well as intensity of use, the age at which the habit started and stopped, the total duration of use excluding the years stopped, the years since last use for each type of product, and the level of inhalation when smoking (partially or totally).
High levels of inhalation exposure to CCl4 resulted in liver cirrhosis in rats but in neither fibrosis nor cirrhosis in mice [ 33].

We appreciate the comments of Fowler et al. In their letter, they compared the maximal maternal inhalation level of polycyclic aromatic hydro carbons (PAHs) in Krakow, Poland (Choi et al. 2008), with the mean fetal liver dose in Aberdeen, United Kingdom (Fowler et al. 2008).
In a prospective longitudinal cohort study of 26 patients (11 with and 15 without burn injury), the authors found that pulmonary suPAR levels were useful for the diagnosis of inhalation injury and that high systemic levels indicated an adverse prognosis in terms of duration of mechanical ventilation and length of intensive care unit (ICU) stay.
