The president of the company, Tom Butler, said that operating from Reno with its current level of air service meant adding up to two extra days to every trip to the East Coast or overseas.
"Even experts will tell you they don't know the level of air emissions," said Adrienne Esposito, the executive director of the Citizens Campaign for the Environment in Farmingdale and a member of the laboratory's community advisory council.
