Since this is his procedure, it is convenient to describe modal syllogisms in terms of the corresponding non-modal syllogism plus a triplet of letters indicating the modalities of premises and conclusion: \(N\) = "necessary", \(P\) = "possible", \(A\) = "assertoric".
The two interventions differed according to the perceptual modalities used to explore the target letters: with the visual modality only in the classic (control) intervention and with both the visual and haptic modalities in the multisensory (experimental) intervention.
In a subsample, i.e. all participants of WU, domain specific cognitive function was assessed using six standardized tests; the Symbol Digit Modalities Test, the Letter Fluency test, the Trail Making Test, the Digit Span Test, the Word Learning Test and the Stroop Colour Word Test.
