Over the last decade, concerns have been raised about increases in the electricity used by information technologies, other consumer electronic devices, data centres, and to a much lesser degree, Internet distribution networks.
But while most of the phone giants have the bulk of their customers in the countries where they were once the national monopolies, Tiscali has pursued a strategy of acquiring lesser-ranked Internet companies, gradually assembling a European network without ranking at the top in any single national market.
All socialising is deceptive to a greater or lesser extent – the internet just makes deception easier.

What will be the impact of this sudden and profound "global education" upon political dictatorships, isolated communities, coherent cultures, religious practices, etc.? As great universities of the world begin to offer degrees and knowledge modules via the Internet, will "lesser" universities be damaged or even forced out of business?
