There may, however, be a risk of associated microinvasive foci, especially when the lesion is extensive (McMasters et al, 2002; Moran et al, 2005; Tunon de Lara et al, 2008).
Thirty-nine (31.5%) lesions were extensive (involving ≥3 TDLU) and 85 (68.5%) were focal (involving ≤2 TDLU); 82 (66.1%) lesions were found incidentally, and 42 (33.9%) were targeted.
