Interestingly, the phylogenetic correlation between spine length and parasite prevalence fits well with the observation that the distribution range of short-spined cacti (Echinopsis deserticola, Echinopsis spinibarbis, Eulychnia iquiquensis, and Eulychnia saintpieana) does not overlap with T. aphyllus at present (Fig. 4).
Although there may be distinct care patterns in centenarians compared with other cohorts of oldest old, the exact development concerning prevalence, length of stay, and factors that are associated with long-term care status in the last years before death is unknown.
The objective of this study was to examine the impact of changing the length of the prevalence period on the observed incidence and misclassification of these conditions.
In an attempt to measure overall morbidity, three types of indicators have been selected: hospital morbidity (separations and length of stay), prevalence of chronic conditions and disability.
Finally, relatively high sensitivities were found in studies where data on absence length, frequency and prevalence of absence were provided as pre-specified categorical questionnaire options [ 5, 17].
We found that the number of false positive incident cases increased considerably as the length of the prevalence period was shortened.
The length of the prevalence period was then reduced in 6-month increments from 30 months to only 6 months before cancer diagnosis or the sham date.
Because random shearing of the full-length target molecule is used in some protocols, we have also modeled the effects of shearing to an average length on the prevalence of secondary structure in selected targets.
Studies providing self-reported data on total absence length, frequency and prevalence as pre-specified categorical options reported relatively high sensitivities (range 79-91% with workplace registers as reference standard) [ 5, 13, 17].
But it is difficult to compare different studies due to factors such as how a certain anatomical region was defined, the length of the prevalence period, definition of pain, data collection techniques, etc.
