Chinese hamster ovary cells stably transfected with human full-length CAR cDNA (CHO-CAR; a kind gift of Dr J Bergelson, Division of Infectious Diseases, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, PA, USA) and parental CHO cells were cultured in Ham's F12 medium containing 10% fetal calf serum (FCS).
